History: This vibrant and striking trio features bold two-tone glaze in burnt orange and butter yellow, accented by geometric stylized leaf motifs in black, green and blue outlined in black. This is classic Art Deco meets Japanism, likely from the late 1930’s-1940’s. the angular handle and vivid hand-painted glazes reflect both Western Art Deco taste and Japanese artistry. The Goldcastle/Hand painted/Chikusa/Made in Japan with a stylized pagoda logo backstamp was used pre-WW2 to early 1950’s, during Japan’s strong export period to Western markets.
