Name: Windmill Light

Type: Hand-Painted Delft-Style Candlestick Holder

Year: Late 20th century (circa 1980s–1990s)

Set: No

Mark: Unknown Korean export pottery studio - “Hand Painted” and gold foil sticker “Made in Korea”

History: This petite porcelain candlestick holder is a hand-painted piece in the Delftware style, inspired by traditional Dutch blue-and-white pottery. The decoration features a windmill scene flanked by floral motifs, executed in cobalt blue underglaze. The stylised strokes and simple brush technique are indicative of folk-inspired export wares rather than authentic Dutch Delft.

The base shows a “Hand Painted” blue script mark and retains its original gold "Made in Korea" export sticker, which situates the piece within the post-war period of Korean decorative ceramics, specifically aimed at Western markets during the 1970s–1990s. The quality is decorative and functional, but not collectible in the fine ceramics or antique Delftware categories.
