History: This is a commemorative ceramic plate produced by Johnson Bros of England in the early 1940s. The pattern is titled “Queen’s Bouquet”, a design replicating the actual bouquet presented to H.M. Queen Elizabeth (later the Queen Mother) during the 1939 Royal Visit to Canada. The backstamp includes the registration year of 1940, marking this as a historical and patriotic wartime piece.

The plate features a ribbed and scalloped edge, delicately gilded, with a central posy of multicoloured wildflowers and a floral garland circling the rim. The florals are printed in soft pastel tones with yellow, lavender, pink, and orange hues typical of 1940s colour palettes.

This plate is part of a commemorative series and was both decorative and collectible, produced for the British and Commonwealth markets as a tribute to royal diplomacy and unity during wartime.
