History: A charming mid-19th century porcelain plate featuring a central hand painted pansy bouquet in rich tones of violet, ochre and green. The moulded, scalloped rim is delicately decorated with gilded and enamelled scrollwork in soft pinks and yellows. Though unmarked, the piece exhibits qualities associated with early English or continental European porcelain. A fine decorative example with gentle wear appropriate to its age, its ideal for collectors of floral or Romantic period ceramics.
