History: This compact vase, roughly 12 cm tall, features a rich cobalt blue ground with vividly enameled floral decoration, most notably white and red poppies with metallic gold highlights and outlines. The design mimics traditional Japanese cloisonné but is rendered on ceramic, a decorative approach popular in mid-century export wares intended for Western markets.

The base is unmarked, and the style suggests Japanese production, especially from the 1950s–1970s era when Japan produced a wide array of ornamental ceramics for export. The florals are delicately applied, with some evidence of hand-enameling. However, the crack across the lower body — visible in close-up — significantly detracts from the collectibility.

Flaws: Hairline Crack
