History: This trio features a classic hand decorated landscape scene with Birch like trees, rolling countryside with a path or stream, hazy clouds and soft blue/pink hills in the background all set on a buttery yellow background which is a hallmark of some Aynsly designs from this era. The soft colour palette and subject matter are typical of 1930-40’s romantic English China, designed to evoke the countryside. The trio uses a scalloped rim and a high waisted cup with a delicate handle, all characteristic of the late Art Deco/early mid-century period. This piece would be well loved by a collector who focuses on hand painted landscape ware.
