History: This porcelain creamer jug is decorated in a classic mid-20th century chintz floral transfer pattern in delicate pinks, blues, and purples against a cream ground. The jug features a scalloped rim, spout with gentle flare, and a looped handle with gold trim. The rim, foot, and handle show moderate gilt wear. The interior and exterior both exhibit surface crazing—typical of aging glaze.
 
 
The base stamp reads "Crown China, 'Maytime', England" with a stylized crown—typical of small Staffordshire potteries operating pre- and post-WWII. This pattern aligns with the widespread popularity of floral chintz designs in the interwar period and early 1950s. While Crown China is not attributable to a single known pottery, similar marks have been linked to the Thomas C. Wild group and other Stoke-on-Trent firms.
