History: This small decorative earthenware plate comes from the well-known Flora Gouda pottery of the Netherlands, a factory celebrated for its vibrant hand-painted designs. The design, titled “Lesana”, features a bold red stylised leaf with grey-blue berries, flanked by thick black outlines and highlighted by a rich black border rimmed with gold.

The base bears the crowned shield backstamp of Flora Gouda Holland, along with the hand-painted pattern name and shape code: “12013 Lesana.” Flora was one of several potteries from the Gouda region known for mid-century modern and abstract designs, which were popular during the post-war decorative boom in Europe and abroad.

This particular piece, with its clean lines, scalloped rim, and high-contrast palette, reflects a mid-century aesthetic and was likely produced for export or boutique retail.
