History: This is a Japanese-made ceramic display plate featuring a subtly textured surface and an embossed basket-weave-style border. The glaze shows signs of age-related crazing, which is consistent with vintage Japanese export ceramics from the mid-20th century.
 
 
The black ink backstamp reads "MADE IN JAPAN", confirming its post-WWII export origin—likely intended for Western markets. The muted neutral glaze and simple geometric styling align with mid-century tastes, possibly used as a cheese tray, hors d'oeuvre plate, or decorative wall display.
