History: This tactile, hand-thrown stoneware bud vase is a striking example of mid-to-late 20th-century studio pottery, signed “Douglas” to the base. Its organic, bulbous form and textured, dark earthen body reflect a minimalist, wabi-sabi influence, commonly embraced by potters of that period. The unglazed finish emphasizes the natural tones and clay structure, while faint surface fissures and stress cracks suggest age and authenticity, though they do affect value.

A sculptural piece suited for a single bloom or simply as an art object, this signed Douglas vase is a charming collectible for studio pottery enthusiasts. Despite its modest size, its strong form and earthy palette give it presence. Ideal for rustic, boho, or Japandi interiors.

Flaws: Minor cracks
