History: This fine miniature crested ware vase features the coat of arms of the Earl of Loudoun, with the place name Mauchline beneath—a town in East Ayrshire, Scotland. Produced by Bow China of Stoke-on-Trent, this piece exemplifies early 20th-century souvenir porcelain, part of a craze for "Crested China" popular among Edwardian travellers.
Crafted in glazed white porcelain with gilt rim and fine decal transfers, the design includes supporters in full regalia and the family motto In Veritate Victoria ("In Truth is Victory"). The base is stamped with the Bow China mark, a known crested ware manufacturer operating in the early 1900s.
An excellent example of patriotic and regional commemoration ware, this miniature vase would have served as a keepsake from a visit to Mauchline. Despite its small stature, it bears the grandeur of heraldic symbolism with collectible appeal.
