Name: Dated Roses Type: Rose-Decorated Ceramic Flower Bowl / Planter Year: Circa 1920s–1930s Set: No Mark: Fieldings Crown Devon, Stoke-on-Trent, England - "Devon Ware Fieldings, Stoke-on-Trent, England" with crown emblem History: This is a Fieldings Crown Devon piece, produced in Stoke-on-Trent, a major hub of English pottery. The "Devon Ware" line, popular during the interwar years (1920s–30s), often showcased vibrant transfer-printed floral motifs, overlaid with a lightly hand-tinted effect for added depth. The decoration here features romantic sprays of roses in rich shades of yellow, deep crimson, and soft pink, on a warm cream-to-amber gradient ground. The green band around the rim was once metal-plated (marked EPNS: Electroplated Nickel Silver), which was a typical technique to reinforce heavily used or ornamental pieces. The pronounced crazing (fine crackling of the glaze) is consistent with the age and manufacturing method and is not considered a flaw unless stained heavily. Fieldings pieces are collectible, especially when they feature floral designs in good color preservation, although minor glaze wear and crazing are common. Flaws: Age related Crazing
