Daffodil

Name: Daffodil Type: Large amber stemmed goblet with twisted stem Year: Circa 1950s–1970s Set: No Mark: None - Possibly Empoli (Italy), Murano, or a Scandinavian studio (e.g., Kosta Boda) History: This large, stemmed goblet, measuring approximately 16 cm in height, features a distinct light amber (daffodil) bowl with a clear foot and stem. The stem showcases a twisted latticinio-style optic pattern, which is a technique often associated with Murano and Scandinavian mid-century artistry. The oversized bowl subdued yet warm color, and elegant twisted stem are consistent with decorative glassware produced in Empoli (Tuscany) during the 1950s–1970s. However, Scandinavian makers such as Kosta Boda and Holmegaard also experimented with similar silhouettes and twist stems during the same era, making precise attribution challenging without a label or pontil mark. The optic twist technique, seen here with precision, suggests handblown craftsmanship and not mass production. The clarity of the stem glass and the even distribution of the color throughout the bowl are additional hallmarks of quality. Flaws: slight Hazing of glass colour
