$30.00Price
Name: Delft Type: Petite Vase Year: Mid-20th century (c. 1950s–1970s) Set: No Mark: D.A. Delft, Holland - D.A. Delft, Holland History: This is a small bulbous vase featuring a hand-painted traditional Dutch windmill scene, rendered in classic cobalt blue underglaze. The shape and decorative theme are typical of Dutch Delftware souvenirs produced throughout the mid-20th century. The underside is marked “D.A. DELFT HOLLAND” and includes a hand-drawn windmill and tree symbol, as well as the code “333” which is likely a pattern or inventory reference rather than a date. These types of marks were used by various Delft potteries—especially those focused on export and tourism wares—after World War II when there was renewed interest in Dutch cultural motifs. The piece is made from earthenware with a tin-glazed surface, consistent with traditional Delft techniques. It displays prominent crazing under the glaze, which is expected for its age and material. Despite its decorative nature, it holds limited appeal in the high-end Delft collector’s market due to its more commercial origin, but it remains desirable as a charming vintage décor item. Flaws: Age related crazing
